Whether you're on your way to the fish market, your babysitter's house or to the library, you're probably getting there by riding in a car.Most kids spend some time in a car every day.Cars can be great because they're faster than biking, walking, or skateboarding.
But riding in cars comes with some responsibility: You need to ride safely. Especially when you are driving with toddlers. But what I notice most parents didn't even practice all this safety tips. I once saw a father driving with a toddler (around 18months) on his lap. Whether they think that investing some money in buying children car seat is costly or they are just a bunch of ignorant people.
I was shocked when I read the Berita Harian online ..
Don't you think it is the parent's negligence that has cause the life of that little boy? If they have install the car seat, or even lock the door... I am sure the boy will still be safe, right? I have seen a lot of parents driving around with the kids' not even buckle up to their seat ... Goshhh very dangerous! When hub is driving I always sit down behind with my kids (and of course they were buckle up in their own car seat!)
And now the government is trying to enforce the rear seat belt law. (But I'm not sure whether this has started already or not). Anyway it's a good move to prevent rood accident.According to the news I read, the rear seat belt would be enforced on all vehicles except those registered before Jan 1,1995 .
So parents ... save some money and go buy the baby chair or booster chair for your kids. It's not much , only cost you around $150-$500 (if you really want to get the good one lah...) Your kid's life is PRICELESS .....
Think about it!
p.s Maybe it is more better if parents can install the airbag too!

SUNGAI PETANI: Seorang budak lelaki berusia setahun sembilan bulan maut digilis kereta yang dipandu bapanya sendiri, apabila dia terjatuh dari kenderaan itu ketika mereka sekeluarga dalam perjalanan ke pusat beli-belah, kelmarin.

ya bah! sometimes you can see dunno how many people at the back of a car.. macam sardine. Good to know the govt are implementing such rules. But wheter they enforce it is another thing... Lil C & Baby C have been on carseat since day 1. Kalau teda carseat, I will masuk bukit padang odi, to control them in the car. heheh
Hi Fiona, lovely blog you have... yeah car seat is very important especially to me when I am driving alone with the girls, no car seat means more chaos in the car.....here in Holland it is compulsory to have children car seats in the car or else you'll be fine, children below the height of 150cm has to be on a car seat, hehhehe, imagine I am only 151cm, sikit lagi mau duduk safety car seat, oh gawd.........

Joan,it's good that in Holland they implement that kan ..here mcm tin sardin bilang si celine ...so if i go there silap2 have to sit baby chair , i am just 150cm.. kasian nya .. kakaka
